After the postponement of last week’s match due to a water logged pitch, the Worcester City boys were full of energy and eager to play this derby game against local rivals Nunnery Wood.
From the start City displayed their strength, creating spaces in which to pass the ball and searching for opportunities to break down the Nunnery Wood defence. After ten minutes their teamwork was rewarded with a well-taken headed goal for midfielder James Thomas.
As the half wore on, City began to dominate the match. Any Nunnery Wood attacks were swiftly dealt with by reliable defensive trio Harry Green, Rorie Hanbury and Liam Chadwick, who quickly intervened to enable City to bring the ball forward once more. It was no surprise then, when City went 2-0 up before half time with an excellent debut goal for new signing Ethan Roberts.
