A good test for the boys against a very physical Kidderminster Harriers side. The opening third was hotly contested with some excellent football on show. We were unlucky to go behind, but a lack of doing the basics right (in this instance where we conceded pressure) gave the away side their opportunity.
The second half saw the opposition grow in confidence and their technical ability began to show. We were put under a great deal of pressure, which ultimately paid off. It was important for the boys to show a response, and the final third saw that. We were really proud of how the boys stood up and got a deserved goal back from a great strike by Austin.
The boys were fired up and suddenly they found the extra gear. Despite conceding another they were determined to come out on top of the third and pressed for a second. It duly came and setup a frantic finish. We couldn’t quite get an equaliser, which would have been unfair on the opposition.
GOLD
Tom showed great game awareness today by linking up plat throughout each of the half’s.
SILVER
Evan M was given a challenge to be an extra defender before the game. He did this brilliantly and was a lot more involved in the game than last week.
BRONZE
Jack faced a huge amount of pressure and stood up for himself, battled hard and was determined throughout.
A special mention to Ollie who played his last game for City today. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours and look forward to hearing about his future development.
