Maisie the standout performer

It was a cold September morning showing the seasons were changing that saw Worcester City lionesses away to Wyre Forest Phoenix.
As the weather was changing were the fortunes of Worcester city lionesses going to change also.
After a good start with Maisie Jacko scoring and then having a goal ruled off for a dubious offside the lionesses seemed to lose their rhythm.
A brave Emily had to come off after being injured in a tackle when she was diving at the attackers feet. It was bravery not seen since the film Braveheart was last on at the Odeon. She tried to cover up the injury and not make a fuss showing what tough stuff she is made of.
Gary used the Bill Shankly quote “is it just pain or have you got to come off” but it seemed to lost on young ears.
In the end it was a resounding 7-1 defeat to Wyre Forrest leaving the coaches a lot to work on.
The man of the match was a very hard working Maisie H who was fast in closing down and showed real determination - exactly what the recent training sessions have been about.
