City unable to hold out for a draw

The lionesses faced a tough test yesterday, not only with the weather but their opponents meadow park who haven’t lost all season.
The girls started the game off by grabbing an early goal from the run of play with a neat pass from captain Thea through to Ellie to put the ball past their keeper for her first goal since joining the team.
The visitors played some nice football at times but the lionesses defence started strong and you could see the recent session of trying to close down quicker was working.
Stand in keeper jacko made some great saves to keep the score at 1-0 going into half time.
Second half got underway and the visitors scored from their first attack.
Both teams kept battling and looking to grab a winning goal with the rain not stopping the visitors had a penalty. With Jacko rightly going the right way and with a bit of a scramble the ball was cleared away.
With the game coming into the final 10 minutes meadow park grabbed what ended up being the winning goal.
What a great game it was to watch with both teams playing some good football with a very tense ending.
Girl of the match went to Maisie Jackson for stepping in goal and showing that she is as good outfield as she is in goal.
