It was the local derby of Worcester City Lionesses v Worcester City.
Worcester city had come out on top all the times in the past meetings of these 2 teams but were things going to change?
It started off a lively affair with both teams battling and not giving anything away. It was the lionesses that took the lead with a well taken goal by Maisey “Jacko” Jackson meaning the Lionesses went in at half time 1-0 up.
The second half continued to be a battling affair with determination and guts being shown by both teams. The lionesses scored again with a goal from Kacey Kirkpatrick . However the 2-0 lead was short lived as Worcester city pulled 1 back. The Lionesses nearly scored again but for a great full stretch diving save from Mia in goal.
The final quarter was a tense affair with the Lionesses being pushed back in the own half and having to defend like Lionesses to keep the final scoreline to 2-1 to the lionesses.
A well deserved girl of the match went to the lionesses right back Farrah Humphries, this shows how much pressure they were under from the other city team, but she managed admirably under the constant threat from City.
Overall it was a great passionate local derby played with friends who all celebrated a players birthday with socially distanced doughnuts after the match.
