Lionesses pounce on the Swifts

Saturday saw us travel to Stourport to play a u13s team.

The girls had never played against a team that was a year above them and you wouldn’t have noticed it either as the girls were straight in there faces and not showing any fright.

The game didn’t start to well as the girls went 1-0 down with a long ball over the defence and a nice well taken goal, the girls were playing some brilliant football which the visitors couldn’t handle and the girls got the reward 5 minutes before half time with Ellie taking a well taken goal.

After half time the girls continued to play their free flowing football with Eva constantly causing a threat on that left hand side, also not to go unnoticed was Mathilda covering in at left back but having her best game for the club that she’s had, the goals continued with Thea getting on the scoresheet, the girls grabbed another goal with 10 minutes to go but Stourport grabbed a late consolation goal 5 minutes before the end but the girls held on for a good win and a great confidence boost for them.

If the girls can continue to play the football that they showed on Saturday then there’s good things to come for the lionesses in the future.

Girl of the match went to Eva with her best display also since joining the club.
