With just two weeks away from the start of the 2013-14 season City continued with their preparations with a 2-1 win over Paulton Rovers on a quality Stanley Park surface.
City started off slowly and within two minutes were 1-0 down after a well worked move was finished off by Josh Clien Davis. Rovers dominated the first 5 minutes but thereafter City took control and were rewarded after 9 minutes when Aaron Williams capitalised on a defensive area to be left one on one with the keeper to calmly finish to make it 1-1.
After further pressure it was soon 2-1. A Tom Thorley corner was headed firmly home by Richard Munday after 17 minutes. City had chances to improve on their lead & Matt Sargeant was forced into two decent saves but there were no further goals.
City played with six players 19 or under & with the impressive defence rarely giving anything away look to be improving every match.
