City stormed through into the 1st Round of the FA Trophy after another impressive performance.
Shabir Khan came back into the side to produce what would normally have been a Man of The Match performance, only to be upstaged by a World Class second half goal from Sean Geddes which was followed up by another wonder strike.
Shabir slotted straight into the centre of the defence and looked like he had never been away to give City Manager Carl Heeley another welcome selection head ache, but with City on song every week, a strong squad will be needed to continue the fine run.
Barrow started off well enough forcing Nathan Vaughan into an impressive double save, first from Andy Cook then with the goal gaping Vaughan's legs came to the rescue from Dan Pilkington.
On 13 minutes Daniel Nti received the ball on the half way line and drove forward into the box to hit a strong shot goal bound, slipping under goalkeeper Aaran Taylor and trickling over the line to give City a 1-0 lead.
On 22 minutes Mike Symons was sent clear but held up on the edge of the box, he then turned & hit a shot towards the top corner but Taylor was well placed to pluck the ball from the air.
City continued to press and their next big chance came from a Sean Geddes Corner, which Shabir Khan headed inches wide.
Barrow's best period of the game came in the first twenty minutes of the second half but all of that was undone by a moment of pure football genius. Sean Geddes received the ball just inside the Barrow box and hit a right footed chip from the outside of his standing left leg, to send the ball over the stranded keeper and into the top left corner - it was probably one of the best goals ever scored by a City player and worthy of any goal of the season. It left the rest of the City players staring in disbelief and sent the City faithful into raptures!
Barrow's best chance of the afternoon came minutes later when Anthony Wilson was sent clear one on one with Nathan Vaughan but with the goal gaping, opted to break the net, but instead fired over the bar rather than opting for precision.
It was to cost Barrow dear as with a minute to go, City were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box. It proved an offer to good to refuse for Sean Geddes, who stepped up to smash home into the top corner from 25 yards out.
A day to remember for the City faithful, who witnessed one of the goals of all time and City move on into the FA Trophy first round.
