City face a replay in the FA Trophy after a 0-0 draw at National League Southport.

With the original game being postponed two hours before kick off on Saturday, City faced another long trip north and were without Lee Hughes, Sean Geddes and Ashley Vincent. Shaun Harrad returned to the starting line up.

City had the best of the first half with Alex Gudger coming closest when his header was deflected onto the post and out for a corner whilst Jamie Allen's shot for Southport was well blocked by Wayne Thomas.

Allen was to be involved with several chances in the second half for Southport, all of which were dealt with by the City defence, with Ethan Ross making an excellent save from Allen.

But City held on to bring Southport back to Aggborough, date to be decided.
