City are through the 1st Round Qualifying of The Buildbase FA Vase after a 0-5 win away at Wellington.
A brace each for Jordan Harrison and Demetri Brown with the fifth added by Tyreece Ruddock sent City through to face Highgate United in the next round.
City got off to a promising start but it was the home side who should have taken the lead with Paul Jones but his tame effort was cleared off the line by Joe Hawkins. City had chances of their own, Hawkins came close with a header which narrowly went wide then Demetri Brown failed to convert a Jordan Harrison cross. City took the lead on 37 minutes, Sam Hall sent Demetri Brown clear on the right , his pull back cross evaded Jordan Harrison, but he reacted quickly then fired home from the edge of the box.
The Second half was nearly all City but Wellington missed a golden opportunity to draw level and were immediately punished. Brendan Hackett broke clear on the left and his curling goal bound shot hit the back of striker Saul Thomas, City broke quickly and a defensive mix up on the edge of the box saw the ball roll into the path of Demetri Brown who passed the ball into the empty goal from the edge of the box.
With City 0-2 any thought of sitting back quickly evaporated with attack after attack and it was only a matter of time before the third was added.
A long range effort from Aaron Birch was tipped over by Wellington keeper Dan Tecza and from the resulting corner Jordan Harrison bundled home in a goal mouth scramble.
Minutes later Demetri Brown should have added his second when his goal bound shot was tapped in on the goal line by Luke English who came from an offside position. Brown didn't have long to wait though as minutes later his edge of the box effort hit a defender and looped into the net.
City's fifth came with just over 10 minutes to go when Demetri Brown perfectly weighted cross was headed home by Tyreece Ruddock.
