City reached the final of the Worcestershire Senior Cup after a 3-1 win at Aggborough.
Cheered on by over 300 travelling fans, City went behind in the 8th minute before going 2-1 up at the break, then wrapped it up with a late goal by Bailey Fuller.
Harriers continued as they did for previous rounds by playing a young side, many of whom the same age as the City players. There was also a new signing on show for City as Chinedu Osadebe joined Aaron Roberts up front.
City started brightly as with many games this season but were hit with a sucker punch in the 8th minute with Harriers first attack. A good run down the right wing by Joe Foulkes saw him cross along the edge of the box, Fortune Maphosa got a foot in to block but straight into the path of Jack Tolley who hit a side footed shot which was heading for the bottom corner, Adam Harrison pulled off a great save which was followed up by Keegan Horan who hit a thunderous shot which cannoned off the upright straight into the path of Jack Male who drove the ball home through a crowd of City players to make it 1-0.
City responded by forcing a couple of corners before Aaron Roberts struck a shot from the edge of the box on 14 minutes which went wide. City won the ball back forcing a third corner which was crossed in by Jamie Smith to the back post which was met by Fortune Maphosa, he headed towards Sam Hall on the six yard line who headed the ball goal bound but straight into Aaron Roberts from two yards out, he used his chest to control the ball before swivelling to hit home to make it 1-1 on 16 minutes.
The game flowed from end to end before City's next chance came on 28 minutes. Jamie Smith crossed in from the left into the penalty box, a defender got a head on it but straight into the path of Aaron Roberts who was waiting for a loose ball at the back post, he got a shot in but pulled it wide of the far post.
City continued to close down Harriers at every opportunity and Chinedu Osadebe had City's next chance with a long range effort which was saved by keeper Jamie Emery. Emery was called into action again a minute later as Bailey Fuller picked up a header from Aaron Roberts, hitting a volley from the edge of the box.
On 40 minutes City took the lead. Harriers won a throw in deep on their left which was won by James Douglas, his header found Aaron Roberts who flicked it on just outside the box, Bailey Fuller was the quickest to react, outpacing the defenders before tucking the ball past the advancing keeper.
With City looking to be cruising into the half time break, Matt Harland picked up the ball in the middle of the park for Harriers before playing a diagonal ball into the box, Alessandro Pierpoint took a touch and as he turned Curtis Smith appeared to pull on his shoulder, making the slightest of touches, enough though to bring him down for a penalty. Kai Lissimore then stepped up to hit the spot kick seemingly into the side netting, but City keeper Adam Harrison chose the right way to produce a fabulous save.
The second half was much the same with City on the front foot as much as possible. Unlike in recent previous matches, City looked dangerous from corners and Fortune Maphosa forced Emery to tip over 10 minutes in. At the other end Jack Male hit a shot from twenty five yards out, which went just over.
With eight minutes remaining, Jack Tolley played a ball into the back post for Harriers which just went out of play for a goal kick. From the resulting kick, Adam Harrison played the ball down the right which was well held up by Aaron Roberts just inside the Harriers half, who laid it off to Callum Smith just inside the City half, he then played a superb through ball in behind three Harriers defenders which was met by Bailey Fuller who nipped in to side foot the ball past the keeper from just inside the box to make it 3-1, setting up a final against Pershore Town.
