

Worcester City thumped Pershore Town 6-0 in the Worcestershire FA Senior Cup Quarter Finals at Sixways on Tuesday night.
The visitors came closest to taking the lead early on when Charlie Harper went around the keeper but could only place his effort into the side netting, keeping the score goalless.
City drew first blood when Harry Burns’ pass to Liam Lockett was squared via a deflection off the Pershore keeper to Felix Miles, who put the step-three side 1-0 up.
It was soon 2-0 as a floated pass from Izak Reid was knocked home by Liam Lockett, doubling City’s advantage just sixteen minutes in.
Christmas came early for Izak Reid as he made it 3-0 after Lockett threaded a pass across goal, scoring his first City goal since returning from injury.
Seven minutes later, Josh Bailey tucked away City’s fourth courtesy of a long throw in the final third, as Worcester continued to dominate the first half, heading into the break 4-0 up.
Five minutes after the restart, Lockett nearly bagged City’s fifth with a curling effort kept out by Joe Cunneen in the Pershore net.
City did make it five soon after, with Lockett slotting home from a pass by Zac Guinan into the bottom corner.
Izak Reid scored his second of the match, and City’s sixth, with a header into the far corner, as Worcester ran rampant in this County Cup encounter.
The full-time whistle blew on a resounding 6-0 victory for the step-three side.
Worcester return to league action on Saturday with a 220-mile round trip to St Ives Town in the Southern League Premier Central.
