Worcester City smashed fellow league side Alvechurch 5-1 in the Worcestershire Senior Cup to book their place in the final.
The opening ten minutes were well contested between the two sides as the visitors looked to hold off City’s pressure.
City then broke the deadlock fifteen minutes in when a poor clearance from the visitors fell into the path of Charlie Lutz, who scored the City opener and Worcester’s first goal against Alvechurch all season.
Following the goal, City dominated possession and limited the visitors to barely any of the ball. However, City struggled to double their lead.
Paul Downing came inches close to a second when he fired a low-driven shot towards the corner, but it was pushed away from danger by the Alvechurch goalkeeper.
Three minutes before half time, City did have a second and it was another for Charlie Lutz. A flick-on from a long throw allowed the forward to beat the keeper from close range as City went into the break 2-0 up.
Fifteen minutes into the second half, Alvechurch pulled a goal back from the spot after Charlie Wise committed a foul inside the area, with Tope Obadeyi converting the penalty.
A few minutes later, Charlie Lutz completed his hat trick after another quick throw-in allowed him to pounce for his third of the match as City restored their three-goal cushion.
Nine minutes later, City added a fourth when Matt Richards’ shot found the bottom corner as the midfielder scored his first goal in City colours.
Straight after the substitutions, Felix Miles made an instant impact as he beat his man and fired low to make it 5-1.
Worcester City are back in action on Saturday 14th February in Southern League Premier Central action against AFC Sudbury at Sixways.
