City returned from our first visit to Victory Park with a point after an entertaining 3-3 draw.

City fell behind twice before leading then survived a nail biting end after The Magpies had drawn level.

Chris Doyle, on loan from Morecambe, opened the scoring on 13 minutes when he finished from close range following up an Aaron Burns effort that City keeper Ryan Boot has saved.

Josh Hine almost doubled the lead on 17 minutes, when clean through but Boot smothered at his feet. The early lead was cancelled out just three minutes later City broke out and a fine ball from Sean Geddes found Tristan Dunkley in acres of space on the right and he calmly finished.

On the half hour mark Chorley’s two strikers combined for the second. A ball over the top was flicked on by Aaron Burns to James Dean in space on the left and he finished from the edge of the box driving the ball across Boot to make it 2-1.

Chorley had two chances to increase their lead. First Chris Almond's chip went inches wide then on the stroke of half time a golden opportunity went amiss when Josh Hine headed over from inside the six yards box from a James Dean cross.

With Chorley having the best of the first half chances City came out strong for the second half. Jacob Rowe's header from an Ellis Deeney cross was saved by Chorley keeper Sam Ashton just before saving again from a header this time from Tristan Dunkley.

On 63 minutes a long ball from Ryan Boot was flicked on by Mike Symons into the path of Tristan Dunkley who once again finished as cool as you like to make it 2-2.

Within a minute, the travelling City Fans were cheering a goal once again. The ball was won straight from the restart to go back on the attack. A well worked move ended with Dunkley laying the ball off to Mike Symons who blasted into the roof of the net to make it 2-3.

A couple of minutes later City called for a penalty after Mike Symons appeared to have been hauled down in the box, but was waved away by the referee.

Dean Waldron came on for the hobbling Kyle Haynes on 70 minutes and Chorley tried to revive their efforts by bringing on Chris Simm.

City had further chances with a curling effort from Tristan Dunkley being parried by Ashton then on 77 minutes the score was all level again. The Magpies forced a corner which was driven in by Adam Mather. Chris Doyle rose above everyone else to head home to make it 3-3.

On 79 minutes it should have been 4-3 to the home side. James Dean was put clear but with the goal at his mercy and expecting the offside flag, scuffed his shot wide of the left hand upright.

It was a nail biting end for both sets of fans but no further chances came in the four added minutes.
