Worcester City welcome Loughborough to Claines Lane for their final league game of the season on Saturday afternoon.
City will be content with a repeat of the outcome from when the two teams met in August. Goals from Kyle Belmonte, Elliott Hartley and Izak Reid saw City to a 1-3 win at the Loughborough University Stadium.
The Blue and Whites are already guaranteed a place in the promotion play-offs. Still, they will want to continue the momentum generated by last week’s dramatic victory over Corby Town and take it forward into the play-offs. City had faltered in the league before that fixture, but rallied to get themselves over the line, and will look to sign off from Claines Lane with a win.
Loughborough Students sit 14th in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division and are safe from any risk of relegation, so will simply be playing with the aim of finishing as high as they can in the table. Loughborough come into the game having won their final home game 2-0 against Wellingborough Town earlier this week.
City are 5th in the league heading into the last league fixture but can still finish a place higher should they be victorious against Loughborough Students, providing 4th placed Long Eaton United lose their final game away to AFC Rushden & Diamonds. Anstey Nomads and Corby could also switch places, depending on results, so all is to play for on the final day.
This match will not only be the final league game at Claines Lane but will also mark the last league game of team Captain Adam Mace, who has announced his plans to retire at the end of this season.
Get behind your Blue & Whites this weekend and show your appreciation for a fantastic first season at Step 4, ahead of a guaranteed away playoff semi-final on Tuesday evening.
