City continued their recent run of results with a tight 3 v 2 win away at Wolves Sporting.
A win which takes us into 3rd place in the Midland Football League and has us right on the tails of Ilkeston and Westfields.
After a number of outstanding saves from keeper Dan Jezeph, City finally took the lead through Jordan Harrison who headed home at the near post on the 35th minute from a Joe Bates cross.
Bates who came on for Jamie Smith earlier in the half who left the field of play following a nasty clash of heads, Jamie left the ground and made his way to Worcester Hospital where he had 27 stitches over the wound, glad to say Jamie is recovering well following the incident.
Into the second half and another slow start by City with Wolves Sporting going level via a Scragg nearly placed shot.
City began to take a grip of the game once more and on 72 minutes following hard work by Baldwin the ball broke for Liam Lockett who finished low to the keepers right.
A few minutes later and a deep free kick into the box towards the far post for Tyler Weir, it seemed the goalkeeper had this as an easy catch but one of his defenders was in the way, the ball came over the top for Weir who shot from a tight angle, his shot headed off the line but only as far as James Baldwin who smashed it home.
That you would think would have been game over and with City playing triangles in the corner and keeping the ball well, it took a punt up field and a defensive mistake by Luke English to let Wolves Sporting in and a two on two situation with Zazi placing the ball low to Jezeph's right.
But that was game over, the resulting kick off saw the referee blow for time and City had another 3 points in the bag and move onto our home fixture vs Quorn FC on Wednesday night, 19:45 at the Victoria Groud
