City sealed the points in the first half in this Midland Football League fixture at the Victoria Ground.
City's recent form versus The Mikes hasn't been the best suffering a double loss in the League last year but the Home sides intentions were clear from the start, immediately going on the offensive from the first kick of the game.
With City Manager Ashley Vincent urging his team to push on forcing considerable early pressure, it was the visitors who created the first clear chance of the game when Byrne got behind the defence only to be blocked by the feet of Ted Cann.
City kept the pressure up with chances from Harrison and Lockett and opener came after 26 minutes when Liam Locket shot home from close range after good work from Demetri Brown on the left.
Luke English added a second on 37 minutes after more good work down the left, this time Adam Osbourne crossing to Luke English whose goal bound flick went in off the defender.
The third goal was a great team effort, started deep in the City half. Luke English's long cross field ball picked out Osbourne who combined well with Chris Withington who near post cross was volleyed home by English who stormed through to complete the move.
The second half started as the first ended, with City creating an early chance but Jordan Harrison couldn't keep his effort down from the edge of the box and fired over the bar.
The visitors had a chance to pull one back on 52 minutes. Substitute Josh Willis, needlessly pulled back Ty Knight inside the box to give away a penalty but City Keeper Ted Cann, who was once again impressive throughout the game, guessed the right way and flicked the ball around the post.
City should have had a penalty of their own on 70 minutes. More good work on the left hand side saw City Skipper Aaron Birch attempted to be brought down by defenders, only to stay on his feet and the resulting shot from Ruddock was saved by keeper Fenney.
There weren't too many chances in the remainder of the game and City comfortably held on to pick up all three points.
