City failed to deal with the long ball from the visitors and on 17 minutes it was 2-0. A long punt forward by the Highgate keeper James Beeson bounced twice before being met by Stuart Hendrie who beat Craig Jones to the ball and he lifted it over the stranded City Keeper Dan Jezeph.
Highgate had a further chance on 25 minutes when another long punt forward was knocked into the path of Antonio who headed into the hands of Jezeph.
City tried to work their way back into the game but the visitors stood fast and in added time had a chance for a third. A 60 yard pass by Aaron Brown from one box to another was met by Isaac Jagroop who pulled the ball back to the incoming Nije, who hit it from 10 yards out back across goal only for Jezeph to save with an outstretched leg.
City looked considerably better after the break and started to find their rhythm but it wasn't until Jordan Harrison was introduced that they got the breakthrough. Chris Withington tackled Nije in the City half then found Sean Brain who passed across the pitch to Harrison who hit a superb shot to make it 2-1.

Liam Lockett had a great chance but shot over the bar with 5 minutes remaining and in added time City had two more great chances through Adaggio and Luke Rowe but neither were able to hit the target & the game finished 2-2.
