With most games in the past month being called off City finally got a game underway on a Saturday & came away with all three points at Wulfrunians.
City welcomed new players Key Dryden & Edilson Panzo-Antonio who came straight into the squad and there was also a much awaited return for Chris Withington who also joined the substitutes bench.
City got off to a slow start & a lack of matches was apparent and having lost the ball on the left after seven minutes allowed the hosts to burst forward before Luke Rowe brought down James Hill just inside the box. Hill then dusted himself off to slot home the penalty kick.
With the wind picking up City slowly got into the game and on 22 minutes it was all level. A poor clearance from Wulfs keeper Victor Pinheiro was intercepted by Sam Hall on the edge of the box and after exchanges with Luke Rowe and Sean Brain, Hall set up Connor Mooney on the edge of the box, who curled the ball into the top left corner.
Wulfs had a half chance with a header through Dominic Dell who minutes later was sent to the sin bin for dissent.
Early in the second half the hosts were back down to 10 men when Ben Jevons was shown a second yellow card for a challenge on the half way line.
Jamie Smith and Liam Lockett both went close with chances, with Smith forcing the home keeper into a good save then a few seconds later City's pressure was rewarded when a Joe Hawkins shot from the edge of the box was charged down by a defender straight into the path of Sam Hall who passed the ball into the net to make it 2-1.
City who were now on top saw Sean Brain go close forcing Pinheiro into a fine save. The hosts best chance came late on with a lofted ball into the box by Jack Rowley forcing Dan Jezeph into stretching for the save which was looping in towards the net but City held on comfortably to take the points.
