A strong second half performance from City sealed the points on a cold night at The Victoria Ground.
After a goal less first half with both sides having one good opportunity, City went ahead on 50 minutes. A searching ball deep into the Romulus half by Luke Rowe for Jordan Harrison to run onto was intercepted by Jay D Lionga and passed back to keeper Hathaway who miss kicked straight into the path of Marco Adaggio just inside the edge of the box, who was then hacked down by Callum Rudd. He was lucky only to be shown a yellow card. Sean Brain then stepped up score in the bottom corner.
On 75 minutes it was 2-0. After a neat passage of City play appeared to come to an end when Dominic Perkins met a pass meant for Luke English, he failed to clear and English stole the ball then hit a pass across the face of the goal which was cleared by Rudd but the ball rebounded off the back of Alex Tomkinson's head and into the net.
City's 3rd came three minutes later. City broke out from a Romulus attack with Chris Withington putting Marci Adaggio through one on one with the keeper who made a great save, but the ball fell straight to Withington who combined well with Liam Lockett before finding Sean Brain wide just outside the box. He then hit a perfect lofted cross deep to the far post for Adaggio to volley home inside the six yard box to give City the 3-0 win.
