At the fifth time of asking, City have finally won a home game at Claines Lane after beating Stourport Swifts 4-1 in front of a crowd of 490. Dan Westwood was the star of the show after not only notching his first goal of the season but also coming away with the match ball after a second half hat-trick.
City almost got off to the perfect start after Aaron Roberts long ball forward was flicked on by Chris Sterling into the path of Billy Shaw but his shot went past Swifts' keeper Dominic Richards but inches wide of the post.
Fortune Maphosa then came close on 16 minutes after a driving forward run was laid off to Sterling who chipped the ball back in only for Maphosa's overhead kick to bounce off the bar.
With City on top, the visitors were gifted a goal. City Keeper Brendon Bunn took too many touches in his box before his pass forward was intercepted and the ball passed to Matty Gardner who then had an easy tap in to an empty net.
On 35 minutes the visitors had a great opportunity to extend their lead when Bailey Fuller on right-hand side was played in behind the City defence. He then took his time to set up, but his shot was fired high and wide of the post when it looked easier to score.
City continued to press and forced a series of corners and on 39 minutes drew level. Aaron Birch's second attempt at a corner was thundered home from the head of Fortune Maphosa to score his first goal for the club. On the stroke of half time, he nearly added a second after another driving run forward saw his long range effort go wide.
The second half saw City continue with the pressure and were rewarded after 49 minutes from another corner. This time it was Dan Westwood who raced across the goal to finish Aaron Birch's cross at the near post, to grab his first goal of the season to make it 2-1
City added a third on 61 minutes after some great work from Billy Shaw on the left, he then turned inside the defender before pulling the ball back from the byline to Chris Sterling who missed the ball but it fell straight into the path of Dan Westwood who finished from close range.
On 72 minutes with City continuing to press forward at every opportunity, Dan Westwood added the fourth and his third goal of the night. More good build up play saw Westwood given the ball from Aaron Roberts and with his back to goal from 20 yards out, he turned before curling the ball into the top corner giving the Swifts keeper no chance.
