Today's game saw Worcester City take on South Gloucester on a bright and breezy morning. From the off Worcester were on the attack, moving the ball about comfortably and within five mins Worcester were ahead with a fine strike over the keeper. A corner soon after was slotted home to put Worcester two up. Both teams continued to play some nice football but Worcester struck again making it 3-0. A free kick awarded to Worcester was floated into the box to be headed home to make it 4-0. South Glos did manage to pull a save out of the keeper but went in 4-0 down at the break.
The second quarter again saw both teams moving the ball about quickly, looking to break through, but some fine tackles from both sides kept the game even until a corner was headed in at the back post to make it 5-0. A cool free kick converted ten mins into the quarter sent Worcester into the break 6-0 up.
The third quarter saw Worcester pile on the pressure with the South Glos keeper making some fine saves until a long range effort was looped over the keeper to make it 7-0. Even with the scoreline drifting away from South Glos they still looked good playing some neat one twos, playing through the thirds, until another save by the keeper was followed up to make it 8-0. Worcester had the attacking bug and were looking for more goals when a close range finish saw the quarter end 9-0.
The final quarter continued with some good flowing football throughout and both teams looked to play the ball in a positive manner, Worcester finished off the game when a well taken corner was sent home with a glancing header to end the game 10 -0. Worcester City wish South Glos all the best for the season ahead.
