Q1
The first quarter saw an early shot by Worcester pushed wide by the Birmingham keeper, but then neither side had any clear chances until just before the first break. A free kick to Worcester on the edge of Birmingham’s box led to the opening goal by Kobe and a largely scrappy Q1 finished 1-0 Worcester.
Q2
Both teams started to move the ball more effectively in the second quarter, but it was Worcester who were creating more chances, rewarded with two goals by Toby and Kobe. Both defences were well disciplined and supported by some good distribution from the keepers. 3-0 half time.
Q3
Sustained pressure from Worcester in the third quarter quickly produced two goals for Eden. There were some good midfield performances by both teams, and the work rate of the players in the blustery conditions was commendable. A Birmingham free kick on the edge of the Worcester box at the end of Q3 went just wide of the post. 5-0.
Q4
The final quarter brought hattrick goals for Kobe and Eden, and a second for Toby to round off a comfortable victory for the home team.
A good performance by Worcester, but Birmingham deserve credit for their energy and work rate throughout. 8-0 full time.
