The sun was shining for our first game on our perfectly prepared pitch.

This was our first game in the JPL league. With the sun shinning, a pitch that had been perfectly prepared by the groundsman and assisted by the nights rainfall, it was great conditions for football.

Cheltenham turned up with plenty of time and were well prepared, the game started and early on our boys seemed nervous but we soon overcame that and got our shape and started to pass the ball around. We started to apply some pressure resulting in a corner after 6 mins. Ben put a perfect corner in and Alfie finished with a great header into the top corner. Cheltenham competed well in midfield but we managed to create another opening on 12 mins after a good move with a great left foot finish by Kane. We kept our shape and the whistle went for the end of the first quarter. Worcester City 2 Cheltenham 0.

The start of the second quarter and Cheltenham started brightly resulting with a good goal for them to take it to 2-1 with 8mins gone. We maintained our passing game with Kane and Owen combining, Owen ran with the ball and shot into the bottom corner after 10 mins. With some tough but fair tackling Mac came off with a bruised shin with Benny replacing him. Following some strong play from Worcester Kane scored another goal and late on in this quarter Zach had a free kick saved by the goal keeper. Worcester City 4 Cheltenham 1.

The 3rd quarter worked out to be our strongest and Worcester created lots of chances with Charlie getting onto a great cross from Elliot to score. In the 12th minute Zach had another free kick saved which Kane tapped in. Elliot scored a great goal to increase our lead. Cheltenham broke quickly with Joel making a great save but Worcester broke back with Kane finishing well again for his hat-trick. Charlie finished the quarter with another well taken goal. Worcester City 9 Cheltenham 1.

We started the fourth quarter well with Elliot scoring from a good team move. With the boys getting a bit tired we lost our shape a little but after a couple of substitutions we got back to our game and saw it out finishing Worcester City 10 Cheltenham 1.

Referee Reece had a great match making clear decisions throughout the game. Cheltenham played fair and well, showing the potential of a great squad, we look forward to the return fixture.
