It was a mild day, we were at home again and after the weeks weather the grass was quite long,

1st quarter

We started a bit slow but were against a strong Gloucester team who had some talented boys who passed the ball very well. We broke forward and got an early corner, Morgan fired in a good delivery and Alfie headed just wide, Gloucester got hold of the ball and made us work hard, they had a shot that went just wide of our left post, another strike forced a great save from Joel. We regained possession and Mac was fouled on the edge of the area, Alfie took the free kick and tried to place it but it went just wide. From the goal kick Gloucester broke forward and with a good finish chipped over Joel, 0-1 Gloucs. We regrouped and pushed forward and got another free kick which Zach hit wide and Gloucs made the clearance. Worcester 0 - South Gloucester 1

2nd quarter

This started the same as the first with our boys struggling to make their passes. Gloucester attacked but Ethan stood strong and cleared the ball from inside our area. Gloucester got a free kick just inside the half way line, they shot and Joe saved well. Worcester started to play better and the passing improved, we gained a corner which Morgan took and straight from the training ground (thanks Mr Watkins!) Alfie rose to head in. Worcester 1- South Gloucester 1.

3rd quarter

This quarter changed the game. Gloucester got an early free kick which Alfie cleared and we then got going. Tom had a free kick saved by their keeper and Worcester then went on to play some great football. Tom finished a good move to make it 2-1, we regained possession after the kick off and Elliot finished well after great skill from him, 3-1. The boys seemed up for the challenge and applied more pressure. Cam played Elliot in for his second with a well taken finish 4-1. Worcester pushed on and with a goal mouth scramble Kane headed in, 5-1. To finish off the quarter we got a penalty which Zach took and scored to keep his 100% penalty taking record in tack. Worcester 6 - South Gloucester 1

4th quarter

We made a few changes in this quarter and Gloucester finished strong, Benny fired a shot just wide, Gloucester broke and, one on one, Alfie made a great decision and made a challenge that he had to do. Gloucester got a free kick which Joe saved well. Gloucester got hold of the ball and managed to slot in the final goal of the match. Worcester 6 - South Gloucester 2.

Really enjoyed the challenge Gloucester gave us today, they have some strong boys and are managed in the right way
