South Glos welcomed table topping Worcester City

South Glos welcomed table topping Worcester to Yate International Academy in dry but windy conditions this morning. The score line suggests a one sided game, but South Glos battled well and had a number of chances that could of made the scores a lot more accurate. Worcester were very clinical this morning, this coupled with South Glos' inability to get out from the back is what ultimately decided the result. However both teams can take a lot from the way they tried to play, the approach was possession based and the passing accurate and quick. South Glos at times played through the middle of the pitch well, Worcester where extremely dangerous from wide areas. On a different day this result could be different, and the South Glos boys can reflect on the game knowing that they can compete with any team in the League and give any team a good game. The challenge for South Glos is to close the gap further. The South Glos boys can also be proud of their continued efforts to play an attractive brand of football. Although this game was closer than the score line suggested, it has to be said that Worcester were good value for their win and are a real force to be reckoned with. South Glos would like to wish Worcester all the best for the remainder of the season and will look forward to playing them again soon.
