City finished their JPL league fixtures with a heavy defeat at Kidderminster Harriers although they ended their competitive campaign on a positive note with an improved fourth quarter display.
Against a good side, who mastered a difficult playing surface and were composed on the ball throughout, the visitors only trailed to a penalty at the first interval but were then completely undone by the concession of six goals in the second and third quarters.
Nathan Wood grabbed a consolation when he ran onto a through ball that the Harriers defence and keeper missed and rolled the ball into an empty net – a just reward for his tireless running throughout the game.
Although the game was gone, credit to City for battling on in the final quarter which they shaded and played their best football of the match despite no further goals being scored by either side.
With Herefordshire RTC conceding the final scheduled league game, City will now be aiming for some decent performance in the friendlies that have been arranged to take them through to the end of the season.
