A storming second quarter display wasn't enough to prevent City from slipping to defeat in their rain-soaked visit to Cirencester Town.
Poor defending and the concession of a free-kick on the edge of the box saw the visitors fall two goals behind in the first period.
Q2 produced a dramatic transformation as City hit back to lead with three fantastic goals as Fabian Hook and Lewis Corbett netted spectacularly from distance and Jesse Asomugha nodded home an Alex Fenn free-kick.
Fenn and Asomugha repeated their double act again from another set piece in the final quarter. However by this time, Cirencester had turned the contest around again and were leading 6-3 so it was no more than a consolation.
Final score was a 6-4 victory for the hosts.
