An assured performance ensured City progressed into the next round of the WFA Cup with a 5-0 win at Nunnery Wood Colts.
The visitors dominated possession throughout the contest but any half-chances that were created were repelled by their hard-working hosts.
It was Nunnery who created the first clear-cut opportunity when City failed to pick up a runner who, when the ball was squared to him, blazed over with the goal at his mercy.
The miss was to prove costly as within minutes, Jesse Asomugha found space to slot the ball home.
As half-time approached and with City firmly in the ascendency, Nunnery gave away a needless free-kick 30 yards from goal. The keeper found Alex Fenn's resulting strike too hot to handle as he could only parry into the path of Guy Collett who tapped in City's second and what proved to be the last kick of the half.
The second period continued as the first finished with the visitors threatening and it wasn't long before the lead was extended when good play from Asomugha set up substitute Declan O'Shea for a debut goal with a calm finish.
Will Cottell was thwarted by an excellent save from a tight angle on the left but, shortly afterwards, he was to set up the goal of the game from the right. A flowing move from front to back saw him cross from the byline - the ball dropping into the path of Lewis Corbett, who lashed home a beautiful half-volley from the edge of the box - just reward for an outstanding display against his former team.
Corbett then turned provider from the same flank as he squared for Asomugha to tuck away his second and cap a very accomplished team display.
