City see off 10 man Altrincham

City pick up a solid 3 points with 3 goals at The Victoria Ground this afternoon. The victory sees City jump 2 places to 12th in the Vanarama National League North standings.

Lee Hughes gave City the lead in the 8th minute, finding himself on the end of a pinpoint Cieron Keane cross, heading home from only a few yards out.

Only 2 minutes later, Hughes found himself through on goal and was hauled over by Alan Goodall. The Altrincham defender was shown a straight red card, meaning the vistors were down to 10 men for the remaining 80 minutes of the game.

City were forced in to an early substitution as Graham Hutchison was caught in the face whilst challenging for a header. He was replaced by Tom Sharpe on the 16 minute mark.

Cieron Keane then doubled their lead on the half hour mark as neat play saw Hughes slot in Keane on the left. The winger smashed his effort low and hard in to the bottom corner from 25 yards out.

City put the game to bed in the 75th minute as Ebby Nelson-Addy found himself free on a rebound from a Chekaine Steele header. He volleyed in to the roof of the net from only a yard out.
