Midfielder Joins the Club

Worcester City are pleased to announce the capture of former Walsall captain and midfielder Richard Taundry. The 24 year defensive midfield player who is also comfortable playing at either fullback has been without a club following his release from the Saddlers in May.

Taundry who made over 150 appearances for the League One club during his 7 years as a professional has recently been training to keep fit with Midland Combination outfit Pelsall Villa as he is friends with the management team and is also local to his Walsall base.

Carl Heeley said, "It is recognised that this type of combative midfield player has been missing from the newly built squad and Richard’s characteristics will compliment the existing players. He is a very strong character who organises people and has a natural winning mentality".

He added, "We feel it is a great capture for the club and we are looking forward to having Richard on board and the club would like to extend a warm welcome to the player".

The management team at the club would like to express their thanks to Craig Timmins and Keith Russell at Pelsall Villa for their assistance and understanding in helping the club to conclude this deal.
