On confirmation of the signature, John Snape said "James is a quick and tricky winger who can play on either side and who has the potential to excite the City fans with his play, he is going to be a real asset to the club this season".

James, 20, was previously with Lye Town, Westfields and spent last season with Bishops Cleeve where he made 37 appearances, scoring 5 times and with 3 assists.
