CITY go into Saturday’s home game against fellow high-flyers, Sporting Khalsa, in upbeat mood following our 4-2 victory at Westfields on Wednesday evening.
It was only our second game in the space of a month as two late goals from joint manager, Lee Hughes, gave us the win in difficult conditions.
We face a Sporting Khalsa side that sits in third place in the table, three points above us but having played three games more.
They have won seven of their 13 League games on the road this term, including a 2-1 success at Coventry United in their last outing.
“The title race is still very much wide open with a number of clubs in contention, including ourselves and Sporting Khalsa,” admitted joint manager, John Snape. “They have plenty of higher level experience within their ranks and having faced them at their place earlier in the season, we know that it will be a stern examination for us at the weekend.
“It’s a game that we are looking forward to and as a group we are determined to get out there and add to our points tally.”
We shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at their place in October.
