Weir relishing his City return...

TYLER Weir has slotted back into the City team over the last two games having rejoined the club following his departure from Evo-Stik Premier outfit, Hednesford Town, whom he joined in September.
“It was a hard decision to leave Hednesford, but I am delighted to be back here,” he admitted. “Things happened quite quickly and I have enjoyed being involved in the last two games for City.
“I actually felt that we played better at Sporting Khalsa than we did on Saturday in the victory at Rocester.
“The main thing, though, was that we got back into winning ways after dropping points against teams at the wrong end of the table in recent weeks.
“It’ll be another tough game against Haughmond on Saturday, but we’ll be looking to make home advantage count and build on the three points that we picked up at the weekend.
“I return here feeling generally fitter and better for the experience of playing at a higher level. I know it was only for a month or so, but I set myself some high standards during that time and I want to maintain them now that I’m back here.
“I want to repay the faith that the Gaffers have shown in me. I know that they have come in for some stick in recent weeks, but people don’t realise the work that they are putting in behind-the-scenes to help get this club back to where it belongs.
“They are giving their all for the club and as players we have a responsibility to do the business for them when we step over that white line.
“We have a collective responsibility to cut out the red cards that have affected us recently and all work together to get this club moving in the right direction.
“We’re sat within the leading pack and still in the FA Vase, so we have an opportunity to really do something this season if we remain focused and display the right attitude and commitment to the cause.
“Coming back here, there has been plenty of banter flying about from the lads and it’s a good environment to be in. We’ve got that winning mentality and plenty of quality; it’s up to us as a group to show the required level of consistency.”
