On a cold, windy morning at Baxter College – Worcester City set out to play our hosts, Kidderminster Harriers, in what we knew was going to be a closely fought game.
Worcester City started the game well with some good passing moves which eventually led to Olly Berry sliding Matt Patrick-Rivers through for an emphatic finish past the Kidderminster keeper in the 16th minute.
Just minutes later, Worcester managed to double their lead which started with some good pressure by the Worcester front line resulting in the ball falling at Matty’s feet in the box. Showing great composure, Matty brought the ball down, beat the defender and drove the ball past the keeper for his second of the game. 0-2 after the first quarter.
In the second quarter Kidderminster came out looking a lot hungrier and managed to pull a goal back following a terrific volley from outside the box.
From then on in, Kidderminster looked the better side and managed to score another three goals in the second half. The game ended 4-2.
It was a good game from two good sides, we wish Kidderminster all the best for the rest of the season.
