Worcester travelled down to the Cotswolds to take on Cirencester in what was set out to be a closely contested encounter.
Q1. Cirencester came out strong and bombarded the defence with corner after corner, however Worcester held firm.
Q2. The second quarter was very similar, with Cirencester in control, and Worcester seemed to be struggling to get into their rhythm. The score however remained 0-0 at half time thanks to some terrific work by Ben Clay and the defence, keeping the Cirencester attacks at bay.
Q3. Worcester came out fired up in the second half and began to claw their way back into the game with some high pressure and more direct football. Although now the better team, Worcester couldn’t find a way through.
Q4. Quarter four followed the same pattern as quarter three, with both defences holding firm, and despite both teams best efforts, neither side could break the deadlock and the game ended 0-0.
It was a hard fought game played by two sides who both looked the play the right style of football. Special shout out to Zacho, Maurio and the rest of Worcester’s defence for remaining solid and fighting hard all the way through the game.
We wish Cirencester all the best for the rest of the season.
