City's exploits in the FA Cup are over for another year after a 3-0 defeat at Sincil Bank in front of a crowd 1,344.
After the excitement of Saturday's 1-1 draw at Aggborough and being in the hat for Sunday's live FA Cup draw, the prospect of a repeat of City's famous 1st Round win over Plymouth Argyle in 1978 was over by half time.
Two goals from Ben Tomlinson before half time saw the contest effectively over as City had little to offer in reply. The first goal came in the 31st minute when Tomlinson leapt higher than George Williams and Graham Hutchison to see his header loop over Viega and in off the bar.
Injured Daniel Nti was replaced by Saturday's goalscorer Aaron Williams on 39 minutes.
City battled back to no avail but with the prospect of going into the break just one goal behind, Tomlinson again scored with his head. Sean Newton crossed from the left which found Tomlinson on the back post, who cross the goal header trickled past Viega.
In the Second half, City did their best to get back into the game and just when it looked like they were succeeding a wayward cross the field pass by Richard Taundry was intercepted by Sean Newton who for the second time crossed from the left to set up a goal, this time a half volley by Bohan Dixon giving Viega no chance.
City's best chance of the night came in injury time when Reece Hales 20 yard shot was tipped over the bar by Lincoln keeper Paul Farman.
