City will feel unfortunate not to have left the New Windmill Ground without a victory and their place booked in the 4th qualifying round of The FA Cup.
A dominant performance in the first half with countless efforts on goal and the majority of possession, resulted in Nick Wright finding the back of the net, putting City ahead with the only goal of the half.
The striker received the ball on the edge of the area, shrugged off his man and fired a left foot shot. His on target effort flicked off a Leamington defender and flew past the stranded keeper Neil Collett - sending the travelling City fans, behind the goal, in to raptures.
The commanding performance from the Blue and Whites denied Leamington a shot on target for the whole 45 minutes and City went into the break a goal up.
The second half was a different story. Leamington came out strongly and it only took them 7 minutes in to the half to draw level. A lofted cross was headed back across goal, and with their only shot on target, Newton smashed it emphatically past Vaughan in the City goal.
Once Leamington levelled, City came back to life. A number of efforts were fired at the Leamington goal, but Collett was in top form.
Close efforts from Wright and Williams were all batted away by the Leamington shot stopper.
At the very death, Leamington could have taken the tie. Somehow, Moore put his header, from only 5 yards out, wide of the post - A huge let off for City.
The sides meet again on Tuesday, at Aggborough, for the replay. 7:45pm Kick Off with the draw for the 4th Qualifying Round on Monday.
