It was a night of Cup Glory as City marched into the 4th Qualifying Round after beating Leamington 2-0.
After Saturdays 1-1 draw at The New Windmill Ground and with both sides knowing they would face a lower graded club in the next round, there was plenty at stake.
City got off to a dream start, when after just four minutes Captain Ellis Deeney received a pass from Connor Gater, his first shot cannoned off a defender right back into his path and he made no mistake with his second shot, firing home through a wall of players from 12 yards out.
City who were dominant in the first half on Saturday did not get such an easy ride as Leamington offered considerably more resistance, however the Brakes keeper Neil Collett, who was Man of The Match on Saturday, offered the City forwards hope after a very nervy start, needlessly giving away two corners in quick succession.
Matt Dodd shot wide for The Brakes and Richard Batchelor was off target after Wayne Thomas made a rare error in the City defence.
Leamington keeper Collett gifted City with another corner which resulted in Nick Wright shooting inches wide from close range.
The Half Time break didn't come soon enough for City as Leamington pushed forward with Nathan Vaughan making a fine save from Dan Newton.
City came out for the second half on fire and sealed the win within two minutes of the re start. Danny Jackman started and finished the move, breaking from the half way line he passed wide to George Williams who raced down the wing before sending a perfect cross to the leaping Jackman who headed home.
Leamington, however did not lie down. Stephan Morley sent a sizzling shot goal bound, which Vaughan was only too pleased to parry wide. Minutes later Vaughan was on hand again as he tipped over another effort from Newton, then substitute Aron Wint headed straight at the Worcester keeper with the goal at his mercy.
The Brakes thought they had pulled one back at the end of normal time with James Fry forcing the ball over the line, but both Referee and Linesman quickly ruled the goal out for a foul on Vaughan.
Five minutes of injury time followed but Leamington were unable to pull one back leaving the City Faithful to make it very clear how appreciative they were to the Team with a rousing send off.
After the game the City Boss Carl Heeley paid tribute to the Fans, "I have played in many games at the Lane, but the atmosphere was electric again at Aggborough tonight. We could see and hear from the bench everyone, young and old once again getting 100% behind the lads. This was the FA Cup and Worcester City at its best".
