City were dumped out of the FA Vase by Desborough Town on Sunday following what could be described as a horrible day at the Victoria Ground.
City entered the game as favorites but right from the off did not seem to be at the races and a first half to forget with aimless long balls from both teams continuing to go out of play.
The second half came and City fans would have hoped a change in mentality at Half Time may have followed but a misplaced pass put Desborough through four on three and a ball to the back post which was calmly curved around keeper Dan Jezeph.
Minutes later a tackle which was not even seen by the Referee saw Jordan Harrison receive a yellow card, seconds later a challenge further down the pitch saw the referee give Jordan his second yellow and a red which meant an up hill battle for City.
So, a goal and a man down surely it doesn't get any worse, until a cross to the back post from a setpiece and the smallest player on the pitch jumped high to head home and it look as though the Vase run was coming to an end.
City fans had hope when Desborough were reduced to 10 men but with not a single decent shot on goal in the 90 minutes it was never going to be our day.
And so we move onto the MFL League Cup away at Highgate on Wednesday 7th November where we hope winning ways will return.
