Daniel Nti scored his fourth goal of the season to earn City a point in a 1-1 draw against Boston United at Aggborough tonight.
City spent the majority on the evening encamped in Boston's half whose best spell came towards the end of the game.
City started the brighter of the two sides and moved the ball well, Danny Jackman going close early on with a long range shot which went narrowly over the bar then minutes later curled a free kick just inches wide.
Sean Geddes then came close with a well driven free kick which was spilt by Boston keeper Paul Farman, but he made amends by punting the ball clear. The Pilgrims were forced into an early change when Liam Marrs replaced the injured Zak Mills.
With City in the ascendancy the stalemate was broken on 35 minutes when Rene Steer beat Daniel Nti down the left wing and whipped a ball in for Robinson whose header was brilliantly saved by Jose Veiga, playing his first game of the season, but the striker followed up and fired home the rebound into the roof of the net. The Pilgrims took control for a nervy few minutes with George Williams and Graham Hutchison both making lunging blocks to keep them out.
City came out strong in the second half, again passing the ball neatly and were rewarded on 53 minutes. Daniel Nti received the ball from Connor Gater with his back to goal, he then turned on the edge of the box to curl the ball around Farman.
Mike Symons was next to come close, hitting the side netting and two chances from Gater went begging. Farman made further saves from Danny Jackman and Sean Geddes then Farman denied Tyler Weir who went on one of his dashing runs.
In the closing minute Graham Hutchison gave away a free kick just outside the box. The well worked Pilgrims set piece saw Dayle Southwell with the opportunity of sealing all three points but Viega palmed the ball away and City cleared their lines.
Another entertaining game for the City faithful and the unbeaten home run continues.
