City came away with another three points and scored three goals for the third game in a row but were given a stiff test by Hyde for much of the match.
Michael Taylor came in for his first start of the season since returning to the club and with George Williams, Graham Hutchison, Jordan Murphy, Shabir Khan and Daniel Nti all out, Wayne Thomas joined Jacob Rowe in the centre of defence, Tyler Weir switched to right back and Danny Jackman to left back.
City got off to a good start with both Michael Taylor and Nick Wright getting good early chances & the early pressure paid off on 13 minutes. A Sean Geddes free kick was met at the near post by a firm Michael Taylor header into the top corner.
Hyde fought back and after several penalty claims were finally awarded one when Wayne Thomas was adjudged to have brought down Connor Hughes. Hughes stepped up to take the penalty but smashed the ball against the post.
The second half went from end to end with Hyde opting to keep the ball on the floor at every opportunity and they came close on several occasions with Jose Viega being called into action to keep it at 1-0.
Mike Symons came on for Michael Taylor early in the second half and within 10 minutes had scored. Hyde won a corner which City defended and cleared to Sean Geddes on the edge of the City box, his 70 yard ball straight towards the Hyde goal saw Symons beat the offside trap and latched onto the ball 25 yards out, before lobbing the advancing keeper Connor Hunt.
Tristan Dunkley came close after a great run but with 16 minutes to go City won a throw in just inside the Hyde half and Dunkley received the ball in the centre of the pitch before firing home from 25 yards to make it 3-0.
Jamie Smith and Dean Waldron joined the action for Dunkley and Geddes late on as City stood fast to keep another clean sheet.
