City ended an eventful 2014 with an away loss in a tight contest at The Lamb thus ending the three month & 8 game unbeaten run in the League going back to September.
Tamworth came out of the blocks quicker but it was City who had the majority of the possession in the first half. Chances for both sides were few and far between
Wayne Thomas came closest in the opening period heading an Ellis Deeney free kick wide just before Mike Symons was denied from close range.
Tamworth were much brighter in the second half with Dave Hibbert coming close on two occasions before the only goal of the game came when City gave away a needless free kick wide on the right wing. Brendon Daniels free kick was whipped in for Paul Green to stab home from close range.
City's closest chance came deep into injury time when Sean Geddes' free kick beat everyone including the far post.
