City started the New Year with a point at Keys Park today in wintry conditions.
The Pitmen had the better of the chances including a disallowed goal but the City Boss Carl Heeley will be happy with a point.
Chances in the first half were few and far between and Hednesford nearly took the lead after Ben Bailey’s cross was caught up in the wind before landing on Jose Veiga’s bar.
City once again had plenty of ball outside the box but were unable to create any serious chances.
Hednesford thought they had scored on 68 minutes when Batchelor forced the ball over the line from a corner but his effort was ruled out by a linesman who flagged before the ball went in.
City had a late appeal for a penalty turned down after Wayne Thomas appeared to be held back in the box but it would have been harsh on Hednesford.
Attendance: 701.
