On Saturday at Lowestoft, City conceded a stoppage time goal with almost the last kick of the game to draw 1-1, this time the tables were turned as Mike Symons smashed a late equaliser to earn a 1-1 draw with Brackley Town.
City had plenty of opportunities throughout the evening starting with Joao De Sousa who nearly scored a dramatic early goal with a volley from just inside the box which was acrobatically saved by Brackley keeper Billy Turley.
City went behind in the 14th minute to a wonderful strike by Greg Kaziboni, ripping the net from 25 yards out giving Nathan Vaughan no chance. The goal received a generous round of applause from the City faithful.
City had other chances in the first half, the best of which was a Mike Symons glancing header which went wide. Brackley had a further opportunity when a misplaced pass from Nathan Vaughan could not be capitalised on.
Sean Geddes made a welcome second half return, replacing Jay Denny as City continued to press, but without any joy.
A late City mistake saw Eric Odhiambo rounding keeper but Jacob Rowe was on hand to clear off the line.
With Billy Turley unable to take goal kicks for most of the evening, City made the most of the added on time. City were awarded a free kick on the half way line which Ellis Deeney pumped into the box, for Daniel Nti head into the path of Mike Symons who smashed home, much to the relief of the City faithful.
Sean Geddes managed to get the ball into the net seconds later but the whistle had already gone for an infringement and the score ended 1-1.
