The travelling Faithful were treated to a fantastic performance by the boys in blue and white last night as City dominated their midweek fixture versus Longlevens.
Manager Chris Cornes made use of his squad, making four changes to his starting line-up from the win over Cinderford Town on Saturday, with Stoddart, Dinsley, Keightley and Hussain coming in for Monteith, Samuels, Gater and Hart.
After a lively start it was one of those changes, Zaq Hussain, who put City ahead in the 19th minute, after proving to be a menace from the off. He and Izak Reid continued to link-up well before Liam Lockett doubled our advantage just after the half-hour mark with a brilliant effort, turning three home defenders before unleashing a driven effort into the bottom corner.
City made further changes to the eleven early in the second half with Taylor Randle and Hart entering the game before the hour mark, and Hart nearly had an instant impact with his first touch, a header from a corner that flew just over the bar.
Then in the 74th minute, substitute Taylor Randle sent a beautiful ball into Izak Reid to glance a header into the back of the net and secure the three points.
After the third goal the game became a little scrappy and the hosts ended the game with ten men after Jack Beardswell chopped Reid down on the halfway line with a terrible challenge, leaving the referee with no choice but to send him off.
An incredible travelling support from City were rewarded with three points ahead of Saturday's FA Cup trip to Westfields. City climb to 4th in the table with 7 points from a possible 9 so far in the campaign.
