City kick the season off with a point against last season's play-off contenders, Harrogate Town.
The Faithful will feel a little unfortunate having had the lead until injury time, where a late header from Pitman equalized for the visitors.
Lee Hughes opened the scoring with a calmly taken penalty in the 12th minute, firing past Peter Crook in the Harrogate goal.
Hughes won the ball on the left-hand side, crossing and hitting the hand of right-back Lewis Turner, in the penalty box.
Shiels drew the visitors level, pouncing on a spill from Ethan Ross in the 21st minute. He drove the ball towards goal as Hutchison threw himself in front of the shot. It deflected off the City defender, looped up in the air and dribbled over the line, off the post.
The second half started with City pressing for a second. They were rewarded in the 48th minute when Lee Hughes stooped to head home a Joe Fitzpatrick cross from the right hand side.
City were then pushed back by a determined Harrogate side who were looking for the equalizer. It took the visitors until the 90th minute to break City down and find their way through. A looping cross was missed by Ethan Ross and JP Pitman bundled the ball across the line to draw the sides level.
