City earn a point on Non-League Day after an entertaining encounter at The Victoria Ground.
First half goals from Ashley Worsford and Ioan Evans gave the visitors a 0-2 lead at the break and it looked set that City would fall to their 3rd straight defeat.
A spirited second half fight back started when Lee Hughes pounced on a defensive error in the 47th minute. The striker used his experience to telegraph a back pass from Matt Wilson. Hughes remained calm and casually slotted the ball home.
Despite Junior English being shown a straight red card for a tackle from behind, it looked as though Gainsborough were the side with 10 men as City pressed, looking for an equaliser.
The leveller came in the 72nd minute as Hughes found time and space in the box, cooly slotting past Jonathan Hedge in the Gainsborough goal.
The game opened up in the closing stages but finished all square for City to earn a point and move clear of the relegation zone.
