An 8 goal thriller at The Victoria Ground sees City pick up their first 3 points of the season.
The game started with Alfreton taking the lead in the 5th minute through Samuel Smith. A Westcarr effort had an unfortunate richochet straight in to Smith's path and he finished past Ross.
Alfreton didn't lead for long though as Steele played in Lee Hughes in the 17th minute. The veteran striker smashed it past Spiess in the Alfreton goal.
City then took the lead 9 minutes later as Junior English thundered home a header from Cieron Keane's corner in the 25th minute.
The half played out with City going in with a 2-1 lead.
The second half started with the same tempo and Alfreton were first to score with Tom Allan heading past Ross from a Todd Jordan free-kick.
Colby Bishop was then introduced in the 69th minute and made an instant impact.
The young striker put City back in to the lead only 2 minutes later after Chekaine Steele burst in to the box. His pass found Bishop who turned and shot straight in to the bottom corner.
Bishop was then on the score sheet again, only 2 minutes later with a thumping strike past Spiess in to the bottom left.
The game then looked as though it was put to bed by Lee Hughes who turned and curled a wonderful effort in to the top corner.
City were then playing for time, keeping possession and moving the ball around well before Liam Hearn pounced on some loose defending to claim a consolation for the visitors in the 94th minute.
City pick up 3 points and move to 17th in the table following tonight's victory.
