A second visit to Highgate in as many weeks saw a 3 v 2 loss for the Blue and Whites.
A bitty first half and Highgate appeared more organised than in the recent League Cup fixture. With Aaron Brown back in the side they looked tighter and were harder to break down.
In the 6th minute with City still asleep, a cross the box ball from Adaggio found Lei Brown who stretched and seemed certain to score but only managed to clip the outside of the post. Let off for City !
City started to build into the game and started some neat passing, a ball which eventually found Jamie Smith on the left his ball into the box was smashed home by Mat Birley, only for the linesman flag to be up. Goal chalked off.
Following a disgusting challenge on Jamie Smith which the Referee clearly didnt see else he would have had no choice but to reduce Highgate to 10 men, Jamie Smith left the field being replaced by young Riley Keasey.
One more chance before half time came from a Highgate corner. City defence all over the place but Aaron Brown could only head up and over.
So into the second half and into the 57th minute, a long ball down the right hand side seemed to be going nowhere but Luke English with a sublime lob up and over the goalkeeper found its way into the net, 0 v 1 City.
It did not last long at all. Straight from the kick off Highgate attacked down the City right hand side and Lei Brown copied Luke English with a sublime lob over Dan Jezeph.
So all square and anyone's match once again.
With 20 minutes to go, City disappeared and Highgate forward found himself in miles of space. Dan Jezeph came out the attacker rounded him and slotted home. 2 v 1
With City pressing and trying to find the equaliser it was seemingly game over as former City striker, Marco Addagio makes it 3 v 1.
A glimmer of hope given in the 87th minute, as Birley finds Luke English in acres of space he slots home. 3 v 2.
But the comeback was too late and the whistle blows and another game passes
